Student Privacy, Attendance and CSEF

Annual Privacy Reminder

Our school collects and uses student and parent personal information for standard school functions or where permitted by law, as stated in the Schools’ Privacy Policy and the Schools’ Privacy Collection Notice.

CSPS Photographing, Filming and Recording Students Policy, describes how we collect and use photographs, video and recordings of students. The policy also explains when parent consent is required and how it can be provided and withdrawn. We ask parents to also review the guidance we provide on how we use Microsoft 365 and/or Google Workspace for Education safely at the school and what parents can do to further protect their child’s information. If after reviewing the guidance, you have any questions or concerns regarding your child using Microsoft 365 and/or Google Workspace for Education, please contact the school. For more information about privacy, refer to: Schools’ Privacy Policy — information for parents.

When to submit attendance notes on Compass

Please be aware that when students arrive late or early to school, we require you to sign them in or out using the Compass Portal in our foyer. You may like to communicate these arrangements with the class teacher, but to avoid attendance clashes we do not need you to submit a late or early attendance note via the Compass App.

When students are absent for one full day or longer, we then ask that you submit the attendance note via the Compass App and state the reason for your child’s absence.

Please avoid collecting students between recess (11:30am – 12:00pm) and lunch play (1:50pm – 2:40pm) where ever possible.

CSEF

The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund helps eligible families to cover the costs of school trips, camps and sporting activities.

If you have a valid means-tested concession card, such as a Veterans Affairs Gold Card, Centrelink Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible. There is also a special consideration category for asylum seeker and refugee families.

The payment amount this year is $150 per primary school student. Payments are made direct to the school to use towards expenses relating to camps, excursions and sporting activities for the benefit of your child.

If you applied for CSEF through our school last year, you do not need to complete an application form this year, unless there has been a change in your family circumstances.

If you are applying for the first time, visit the front office for an application form or please find the form attached."
