Australia Day

At the express invitation of Her Excellency Professor The Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, Governor of Victoria, The CSPS Drum Corps attended the Australia Day celebrations at Government House in Melbourne.

In full ceremonial Blues, The Corps dazzled the thousands of visitors to the Governor’s residence with faultless drill, exceptional stick work and meticulous presentation. They drew rapturous applause wherever they performed around the grounds of The Governors residence .

The Governor made a special effort to grant The Corps a very special Audience where she congratulated the members on their outstanding dress and bearing. She also took  the Royal Salute from the Corps as they presented in open order file. The Corps also were able to explore the Governor’s residence with rare access to areas not open to the public before. Also in attendance was our local member Mr David Southwick MLA deputy leader of the opposition. He congratulated the Corps on representing the Caulfield community to such an incredibly high standard and was quoted as saying he was “just bursting with pride” to have us there.

Other highlights included having their group Photo taken in front of the official portrait of our late Queen, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the second and also leading the crowd in a display of Bollywood dancing !
