A MCKINNON SUCCESS STORY: GEORGIA FORAN

Over the last seven decades, McKinnon Secondary College has seen numerous, now professional, athletes pass through its very own gates. Max Gawn, Jack Frost, Melina Ayres, just to name a few. Some may even say that their talent and successes are all thanks to our remarkable sporting culture within the school community!

However, in recent years, one very special athlete has graced McKinnon with her presence, and that athlete is Georgia Foran. With her versatility when it comes to both sport and academics, Georgia is one of the finest students the school has ever seen, and her record certainly shows it. She has represented countless football clubs over the years, playing in the Coates Talent League at Sandringham Dragons from 2020-2023, representing her state in the Vic Metro team in 2022, and now currently playing her second season for the Southern Saints VFLW side.

Although faced with injury the past few weeks, Georgia may be fit to play once again in the coming rounds of the VFLW, and I urge you all to get down and show some support for her and the Saints. The VFLW fixture is accessible online to check out where and when the Saints will be playing and can be found on PlayHQ.

Athletes like Georgia show all of us what hard work and commitment allows us to achieve, and all budding athletes, both boys and girls, should look up to her and her success. We wish her all the best for both this current VFLW season and all of those in her triumphant future. I can certainly say that I am more than excited to see where her Football career takes her!!
