Building an Engaging Learning Community

What a fabulous start to the year we have had in 1/2!

The students came up with our class motto, ‘Shining Together Like The Sun In 1/2!

They brainstormed qualities such as being kind, caring, respectful, helpful, loving, and including everyone.  The notion of ‘togetherness’ was very important to them and we have been mindful of showing these qualities to each other in our space.

During our SEL lessons, we have been learning about ‘The Zones of Regulation’.  We have

been identifying the emotions that we feel when we are in the different zones.  This week, we explored ‘expected’ and ‘unexpected’ Behaviours.  Through lots of role play, we have learnt that our behaviours and the behaviours of others can change or impact our feelings.

During our Faith Based Inquiry lessons, we have been drawing and writing about our gifts from God. We all made a special ‘goal’ wishing wand with one word that we wished for ourselves this year.
