All the Food Technology students have been producing amazing food products during the first term of 2024.
It has been pleasing to see the skill development in the Sweet Desires classroom. Students have been developing their understanding of the role of eggs, and the processes used to make Tiramisu and Chocolate Mousse. Students also produced chocolate chip ice cream sandwiches, a perfect seasonal dessert to eat in Summer. Students always enjoy the opportunity to prepare and present their dishes aesthetically and did this with white chocolate and strawberries to complement their chocolate mousse.
Students have been making a wide range of dishes including pasta carbonara, pizza, cheesy crumbed chicken, and tacos. They have been developing their skills in organisation, time management, working collaboratively, and making their dishes aesthetically pleasing. They have developed their understanding of cross contamination and the importance of keeping our food safe.
The Year 5/6 students have made a variety of food including designing their own layered fruit dessert. Students enjoyed the opportunity to use their prior knowledge of different food preparation techniques to produce their own dessert. This week student focused on safe food handling making meatballs to produce a mini beef slider.
The Foundation and Year One students have been producing amazing food during their Food Technology lesson. They have been practicing good hygiene and keeping themselves and others safe in the kitchen. Students have been developing their skills in rolling, spreading, and working with pastry and dough to produce, rainbow sushi, apricot bliss balls, pizza, and mini apple pies. They are to be commended on their magnificent efforts during their Food Technology lessons.
