Future Funding

Just keeping everyone up to date with our 13.1 million funding grant. We’ve just finished the second phase of schematic planning and sign off. Planning so far has taken into account all areas of proposed refurbishments and costings. Throughout these early planning stages, all the stakeholders within the learning environment are surveyed. Our architectural company Tandem, from Melbourne have been fantastic to work with and are looking to accommodate as many upgrades as possible to get the best outcome for our students and the future learning community. The next phase of planning will involve detailed drawings right down to room measurements, materials used. The start of November this year is when building works are planned to start.  All building works and landscaping should be concluded by the middle of 2026.

There will be a lot of landscaping in the refurbishment to create engaging places for students. Some buildings are removed as part of refurbishment and that is unavoidable. In the old days they would take away portable buildings. We only have one of those so they target the most unused parts of the current building. The upgrade opens up views to the lake for both primary and secondary and we would look to also upgrade the primary playground area. This would go closer to the primary just behind the library next to the yarning circle.

Part of the job!

Last Wednesday I got to share lunch with students who have raised over a hundred dollars for the Food Bank charity. This was associated with the Food Fight activities that we have going currently. Thanks to Donna Tucker who organised it with her VPC/VM students and for the students that have put the huge effort in, the students loved it!!
