Student Reports

Semester 2 Reports will be published on Compass to parents and students on Monday 18th December.  Semester Reports provide a range of information to parents and students about the student’s learning and achievement.

These include:

Work Habits

Students are evaluated on how often they demonstrate key work habits in the classroom. The work habits chosen are connected to our school’s values of Pride, Respect and Responsibility and represent the learning behaviours students are expected to demonstrate in their learning here at Ballarat High School.

Year 7-10 Victorian Curriculum Levels

Schools are required to assess against the Victorian Curriculum achievement standards. This is presented visually on the semester reports. The dot indicates the level that the student has achieved this semester. The dotted line indicates student progress since their previous result and the yellow shaded section indicates the expected level of achievement for a student in that year level.

Learning Tasks

The Learning Task section provides the assessment task results for the semester. A percentage score for each task is provided for all year levels. In Years 7-10, there is also a performance rating that compares the work on the assessment task to what is expected of a student based on their year level.
