Another successful year of Youth Crew finished today with the traditional first years camp at Howman's Gap. Mt Beauty sent along 10 students whilst Tallangatta and Corryong had 5 each. Over the course of the 3 days, students were given the opportunity to push themselves out of their comfort zones, tackling the high ropes course. With some students conquering the stations with ease and others going as high as they can, all students were congratulated in pushing them selves to their limits.
Day 2 of the camp was an intensive day of CFA training, which saw the students taking part in a number of activities such as "2 line fog attacks" and "draughting". The night saw students presented to each other a community safety project about fire safety, which the all excelled in.
Alas the final day had come, and after a quick assessment on radio communication and knot tying, it was time to say goodbye.
Finally, a special mention to Annika for being elected as the MBSC Youth Crew captain for 2024. Also a well done to our graduating pair of Baylin and Jake.
If you are in year 10 in 2024 and interested in joining Youth Crew, nominations will be sought in the first week back of school 2024.
