Principal's Report

End of Year – Activities week

The year is quickly rushing to a finish, with only our Year 7 – 9 students still expected to be attending at this stage. Activities week kicks off today (Monday), with a range of activities running both in and out of school. The week ends with our traditional Picnic Day on Friday, being held out at the Mountain Creek camping area.

Students are expected to attend school in the last week of the term (Monday 18th – Wednesday 20th), however we find that very few return at this time. As such, while there are no specific planned activities for the students, those that do attend will have plenty to do around the school, including preparing for the upcoming school works over the holidays and getting things ready for next year.

Please make sure your child is appropriately dressed for a range of indoor and outdoor activities, including being sun smart (covered shoulders, broad brimmed hat), appropriate shoes (runners or sandals with a heel strap – no thongs) and with a refillable water bottle. The Caf will be still open from Tuesday to Thursday (not on the Picnic Day), but lunches will need to be ordered by recess so Heather can minimise food wastage and costs.

Year 12 ATAR Release

Today the ATAR results have been released to students across Victoria. This is often an anxious time for both students and their families. The students have been invited to meet with Jo Macklan (Careers Practitioner) and Le-Anne McCraw (Year 12 Coordinator) for any support needed today and in the coming weeks.

We congratulate all students on their commitment and endeavours this year. Our students should be very proud of their achievements.  I would like to remind students that a person’s worth shouldn’t be measured by a number or their overall ATAR result. I urge any students to look beyond that number and instead focus on your individual achievements throughout this year and your schooling journey. Consider the many and varied pathways open to you and seek out support if you need assistance.

We look forward to seeing students and families at Presentation Evening on Wednesday 13th December.
