Foundation Information Night

On Wednesday night, we held our Foundation Information Night for 2024 Foundation families. During this evening our future families heard from our four school leaders; Naomi, Aiden, Emily and Kye who each went into much detail explaining the various aspects of life as a student. The leaders did a fantastic job and demonstrated that we certainly have some excellent students in our school.

At the end of the formal part of the evening, the parents were invited to meet with their child’s 2024 classroom teacher in their new classrooms. Feedback from parents on the night suggested a very successful and productive evening. I am sure that our Future Stars program will put all of our new Foundation students in good stead for school life at Park Ridge Primary School.

Farewells

As mentioned last week, we have some more farewells in this week's newsletter to share with our community.

Our valued Business Manager, Jacinta Smith, has accepted a new position at Bayswater South Primary School, a bilingual school. While we are genuinely thrilled for her and the exciting opportunity that lies ahead, it is with a heavy heart that at the end of the school year, we bid farewell to a key figure in our school community.

Thank you, Jacinta, for being a vital part of our leadership team and for the enduring impact you have made on our school community.

Lastly, Laura Brummell, who stepped into 4-20 in the middle of the year, has accepted a Junior School teacher position at The Knox School. Laura will be teaching Year 4 again next year. Please join me as I thank Laura for her contribution this year.

Whole School Christmas Concert

After the great success of the whole school Christmas Concert last year, this year's concert has been organised for Wednesday, 6 December. The concert will be outdoors, from 5:45 - 7:00pm. Pre-ordered food will be available - please make sure you submit your order before Wednesday, 29 November. Thanks goes to the PCA for organising the BBQ for the concert. The evening will give our whole community the opportunity to come together and celebrate the musical achievements of our students. The concert will be situated on the school oval. Fingers crossed that the weather will be fine. Please put this date in your diaries.

For the Diary - 2024

Next year school begins for students in Years 1-6 on Wednesday, 31 January.

At present, the Department allows for four Curriculum Days and one common Professional Practice Day for the year where no students are required onsite. The first Curriculum Days for 2024 are on Monday, 29 January and Tuesday, 30 January. Students are not required onsite during these two dates. Therefore, as mentioned above Term 1, 2024 for students in Year 1-6 will begin on Wednesday, 31 January.

The 2024 Foundation students will spend the first three days of the school year (31 January - 2 February) undertaking mandatory testing for both Literacy and Numeracy. Their first 'official' school day is Monday, 5 February.

Please mark these relevant dates in your diary.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Please feel free to pop in for a chat with either Carrie, Brendan or I, should you wish to discuss anything.

Our doors are always open!

Take care,
