FATHERS DAY
Hold onto your hats—our Father's Day stall is coming up tomorrow! Students, it's your chance to snag a special gift for Dad or anyone who's dear to your heart, in celebration of Father's Day this Sunday. Pictures of the gifts available for purchase have been posted in the daily bulletin to support the students in choosing a gift.
But wait, there's more! This Friday afternoon at 2:05pm, we're rolling out the red carpet for all the awesome dads and special people. Join us for an open afternoon filled with quality time and an array of activities in each Learning Community. Strike a pose in the photo booth, or engage in friendly sporting battles—it's all about creating memorable moments. The more, the merrier! We extend a warm welcome to as many dads and special people as possible.
ART SHOW
Get ready for the excitement as Orchard Park gears up for its second Art Show on Thursday, September 14th, from 2:30pm to 6:00pm. We warmly invite all families to the administration building to admire the stunning artwork crafted by our talented students in Visual Art classes throughout the year. With works ranging from vibrant coral reefs to captivating oil pastel and clay creations, it promises to be an evening bursting with colour, creativity, and proud smiles. Special shout out to Grace W in 34C for her fantastic Art Show Poster Competition win!
And that's not all! While you immerse yourself in the world of Visual Arts, our school choir will serenade you with a couple of melodious tunes to set the tone.
Looking ahead, our Performing Arts night is on the horizon, featuring our first-ever school concert. To help create an enchanting stage with dazzling lights and backdrops, a donation box will be available at the Art Show. Your generous contributions would mean the world to us.
VICTORIAN STATE SCHOOL SPECTACULAR
Drumroll, please! It's the moment we've all been waiting for. Twenty-five of our talented students have been putting their heart and soul into perfecting songs and dance routines for the Victorian State Schools Spectacular. The grand event is just around the corner! Before the big day on September 9th at John Cain Arena, there are two intense rehearsal days on September 6th and 7th.
Joining forces with students from schools across Victoria, our talented bunch will shine in both a Matinee at 1pm and an evening performance at 6:30pm. We couldn't be prouder of each of them and extend our best wishes for their stellar performance.
A HUGE shoutout to Mrs. Downie and Mrs. Banfield for their incredible dedication in preparing the students for this extraordinary day.
If you would like to support our stars on the day, tickets are still available through Ticketek:
BOOK WEEK
Lights, camera, literature! What a blast we had at the Book Parade! It was a pure delight to witness everyone embracing the joy of dressing up and celebrating the magic of literature.
Our Book Parade was an enormous success, thanks to our fantastic families who generously donated over 200 books. A special sticker acknowledging the family's generous donation has been placed in each individual book. The books have all been spine labelled, and covered, and they're now ready and waiting in the Learning Communities for eager readers to dive in.
UPCOMING CAMP
Looking ahead to Term 4, our Grade 3/4 Camp to Woorabinda is just around the corner. Camp Woorabinda promises thrilling experiences and unforgettable memories. All camp forms have been sent out; we kindly request all families to swiftly return these forms.
If this is your child's first overnight adventure, we strongly encourage you to seek opportunities during upcoming weekends or the school holiday period to introduce them to this experience. This will ensure they're all set for the action-packed days and can be at ease at night time to enjoy a peaceful nights sleep.
PREP INCURSION
Our Prep students have an exciting visitor lined up for Monday, September 11th—a visit from Victoria Police that's sure to bring smiles and wonder.
Throughout the term, the Preps have been doing fantastic work exploring different Community Helpers as their inquiry topic. As part of the topic and to celebrate the fantastic work that has been done, we have organised for local police to come out and share with the students their roles within the community.
