Mako-sensei completes stint at Girton
From 5 to 26 August, Girton Grammar School was fortunate to have a Japanese language assistant, Ms Mako Fujihara, volunteering in Japanese classrooms from Prep to Year 12.
Mako-sensei is a university student from Kyoto who is interested in teaching as a possible career option. She provided assistance with Japanese conversation practice, origami, checking grammar and vocabulary, and supervising students.
We are particularly grateful to Mako-sensei for working with Year 12 students to prepare them for their upcoming oral examinations.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Mako’s host families, the Primmer and Fodor families, for their generous support of Mako-sensei.
It was great to see Girton students come up to Mako-sensei in the yard and introduce themselves to her in Japanese. We hope that she enjoyed her trip to Australia as part of the Teach Japanese as a Foreign Language Program.
