Congratulations to...
Year 8 Maths Games
On Wednesday 6 September, eight Girton Grammar students accompanied by Mrs Kath O'Shea attended the MAV Year 8 Maths Games Day. Around 300 students from schools across Victoria participated in the event hosted at Penleigh Essendon Grammar in Keilor.
While the day involved an early start and a lot of learning about public transport navigation and etiquette, everyone enjoyed a fun day of strategy games, puzzles and problem-solving. It was also a great opportunity to meet like-minded students from a wide range of schools and form new friendships.
Adeeth described the day as: "Refreshing ... school maths sometimes feels like a chore, so it was fun to compete against students from other schools in maths games". Thomas said: "I enjoyed spending a whole day playing maths games with my friends".
Congratulations to Harshil Balraj, Eiliyah Daneen, Shanali Wickramasinghe, Kira Collins, Henry Hall, Thomas Brain, Adeeth Samarakone and Thomas Seipolt for being enthusiastic participants and fantastic ambassadors of Girton Grammar.
