SCHOOL LEADERSHIP MESSAGE

 PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

What an incredible week we’ve had with Science Week this week! Each day we’ve had activities running for different year levels – everything from trips to Korumburra Primary School, excursions to GTAC, pyrotechnics on the back oval and an extravagant morning tea for staff today. A huge well done and congratulations to our Science Domain Leader Stacie Witton, Science Lab Technician Donna Muldoon, and our whole Science team. It’s been an amazing and engaging week for staff and students.

Next week is Book Week and the library is already being set up to celebrate all things books and reading. As a lead into this celebration a photo competition has been run in the Year 7 foyer this week, challenging staff and students to identify which staff member is hidden behind which book cover in a range of photos. This has become highly competitive amongst both staff and students with a few very challenging pictures. Entries close on Tuesday next week so study the photos closely and get your entries in!

Last weekend 30 students spent Saturday and Sunday at school as part of our Production Camp. I had the opportunity to see some of the rehearsals on Sunday and it is definitely going to be a show not to be missed. A huge thank you also to Liesl Reymers, Rosie Handley and a number of other staff who also gave up their weekends to work with the students on the production.

At Korumburra Secondary College our core curriculum provides all students with a solid foundation for future success. We are also very proud of our ability to offer a range of co-curricular activities. Activities such as the production provide our students with enrichment opportunity to develop a range of skills, knowledge and capabilities beyond what may be possible in the classroom. It also allows students to further explore areas of passion for them, in what may become future careers. I’d particularly like to celebrate these students today for stepping up and taking on enrichment opportunities as they were offered to them. Dreaming big, and taking on opportunities such as this, is how all students will continue to be the best version of themselves. Well done!
