BOOK WEEK 2023 - Read, Grow, Inspire

Last week St Xavier’s students celebrated Book Week and the theme “Read, Grow, Inspire”. A dress up day was held on Monday where children came to school dressed as their favourite book character. There were some absolutely incredible costumes and it was so wonderful to see everyone dressed up and embracing the spirit of the day.

The Book Week parade was held before lunch and each grade had their turn in the spotlight.

During Book Week some classes participated in virtual excursions organised by the State Library of NSW. They were involved in writing sessions, listened to well known Australian authors and illustrators and even learnt to draw some characters from amazing books!

Book Swap Success

Book Swap was held during Book Week. Book Swap was an opportunity for students to bring in a pre-loved book and swap it for something else! We had 90 students participate in this year’s swap and we hope to make it a permanent part of our Book Week celebrations.

All in all book week was a huge success! It was wonderful to see so much excitement about books and reading! Congratulations to everyone!
