Happy Creative Days in the Art Room!

Foundation

Students have explored paper- torn collage techniques to complete fabulous zebra and giraffe compositions and will continue to create more animal artworks as they finish their Term 3 art focuses.

Year 2

Over the last 3 sessions Year 2 have explored a variety of painting techniques including the use of sponges and brushes to create Impressionistic landscapes.  Adding a paper fence created a lovely feature.

Year 3

Year 3’s Pete Cromer inspired collages look so effective! Students experimented with geli printing and hand-painted papers before cutting out and layering various shapes to recreate an animal. They have also begun Dry Needle felting and are enjoying the ‘mindfulness’ of this activity immensely.

Year 5

Year 5 have been exploring the work of Space artist Chesley Bonestell and after completing research on a chosen planet, have applied soft pastel techniques to complete a Space Landscape.

Year 6

Year 6 have taken their ‘Great Wave’ sketches further by adding a colour scheme of choice, using oil pastels and should feel proud of their vibrant compositions.

Students have now begun working on their silk paintings, inspired by the Edo Period of Japan. Watch this space for future photos!
