Creative writing competition
Kingston Libraries annual creative writing competition, Story Lines is under way.
It is a way to involve the children/students in a community initiative, to let their imaginations go, to have a voice and to possibly win a prize.
Winners are published on the library website, in our Short Story dispensers as well as published into a book, that can be found in our libraries and the National Library of Australia. Age categories include 11-13 years & 14-16 years.
Prizes are Westfield vouchers valued from $50 to $200
Entries close Sunday 17 September.

The City of Kingston invites nominations for the Kingston Women of the Year Awards 2024. They are seeking exceptional women who lead, inspire, and create a profound impact with their contributions.
Award Categories
Courageous Commitment: Women dedicated to enhancing our community's health, safety, wellbeing, and sustainability. This category covers advocacy, campaigning, fundraising, and influential leadership.
Excelling in Arts and Sport: Honouring women who harness their artistic or athletic passions to inspire, represent, and motivate the community.
Inspiring Innovation: For women pioneering change in business, economics, politics, or entrepreneurial endeavours.
Success in STEM: Celebrating those exceptional in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Nominations close on Tuesday 31 October. The Awards Ceremony will be held on Friday 8 March 2024, during Kingston’s International Women’s Day celebration.
