Term Three Progress Meetings

St Edward's School is very focussed on student improvement.

This term, you will have the opportunity to meet with your child's teacher in order to discuss their learning progress. This meeting is important, not only for reviewing your child's current progress, but also for coming up with strategies to ensure continued growth.

At the meeting you will receive your child's Term Three learning progress report. The progress report is a document that shows the progress that your child is making towards completing the learning requirements for their grade. Progress reports give an overview to parents on how well their child is doing in school. They also provide an opportunity for the student and teacher to share priority areas for improvement for the next term. Please note these meetings are three way conferences, involving the parent/carer, child and teacher.

To date there have been over 300 parents who have booked in to see their child's teacher. If you haven't booked your spot yet, please do so. If you are having technical difficulties, please contact our office for support.

Previously, parents who have made appointments to attend these meetings with their child and teacher have found them very beneficial. In fact, all parents who completed the survey in Term 1 rated these meetings as a 4 or 5, stating that they loved the opportunity to meet and discuss their child's future learning goals.

Happy Father's Day

This Sunday is a special day dedicated to celebrating the amazing role that our fathers play in the lives of their children. We would like to extend our warmest wishes to all the fathers in our school community. Your love, guidance, and support are invaluable to your children's growth and success. You are their role models, their heroes, and their biggest supporters. Your dedication to their education and well-being is truly commendable.

Thank you for being involved in your child's education, for attending school events, and for partnering with us to create a nurturing and inspiring learning environment. Your presence and active participation make a significant difference in our school community. We look forward to sharing breakfast with you tomorrow morning.

Attendance

  • Currently, we have a school attendance rate of 90% (the number of days attended as a percentage of the total number of days we have been open for instruction).
  • We also have 62% of students with an attendance rate equal to or greater than 90%.

Attending school is vitally important, especially as there is a direct link between attendance and achievement. If you have any questions regarding attendance, please get in touch with your child's teacher, as we are always happy to help.

School Survey

Thank you to our staff, students and parents for completing our annual school survey. Your feedback is always appreciated and important to us. We look forward to sharing the results of our survey in the coming weeks.

Year 4 Excursion to Dubbo

Our Year 4 excursion was a great success, with our students having the opportunity to visit the Royal Flying Doctors Exhibition, the ZoosnooZ experience, Wellington Caves, Japanese Gardens plus a guided evening and early morning zoo walk. A big thank you to our wonderful staff (Kayla, Rochelle, Jarrod, Leo, Emily) who supervised the students in their care so well. We appreciate your time and engagement in this activity. We would like to also thank and congratulate our wonderful Year 4 students on being such great ambassadors for our school while on the excursion.

Until next week,

Keep Smiling
