Grade 3/4 News

Loving learning every day with Miss Stephan, Mrs Jacobs and Miss Mawby!

Special help from Mr Reid, Mrs Harrison and Miss Linda.

We are all so excited for the end of term on Friday! We have all worked really hard this term and are looking forward to two weeks to rest and recharge and be ready for a sensational (and very busy) Term Four!

We have spent a term in literacy learning about information reports, and writing our own reports about topics that interest us. We wrote biographies, about countries, and animals, and these last two weeks we have been working on a 'passion piece', where we share everything we know about something that we really love and are excited about. We have also been learning how to summarise a text, by taking the important information, and writing in our own words what we are reading about.

We are just finishing up our unit of work on multiplicative thinking, where we have explored the many ways we use multiplication and division. In classroom maths, we have been having lots of fun looking at chance, doing our own chance experiments.

Some highlights of the term:

  • Swimming program
  • Book week
  • Skateboarding clinic
  • Matt Cosgrove workshop

Next term, we are heading off on camp! We have three sensational days in Ballarat, staying at Sovereign Hill, and visiting places like the Wildlife Park, Art Gallery, and Bird World. We also have disco bowling and a visit to Xtreme Bounce to look forward to! There is some more information about the camp on Xuno. If your child will be attending, could you please fill out the form on Xuno with any dietary requirements. We do not require payment for camp yet, as the cost is still being finalised, but we do need to let Sovereign Hill know of any dietary requirements by the end of this week.
