Student Wellbeing

Hello everybody!

Week 7 is nearly over and not too many sleeps to go before a well-earned rest will be available for us all.

The term has been a busy one and there have been many opportunities for our students to enjoy being a part of the SCC family.  Teaching our young people  to be grateful for these opportunities is important as we want them to flourish and go out and be great community members living by example.

One way to do this is showing our gratitude. If you missed a previous e-newsletter here is an excerpt for you to make a cuppa, sit down and have a read.

“If we are bearers of gratitude, the world itself will become better, even if only a little bit, but that is enough to transmit hope”.                  ~ Pope Francis

WHAT IS GRATITUDE?

Gratitude is much more than just a word. It is a sense of appreciation that goes far beyond one simple word.

Studies have shown that practising gratitude can improve our wellbeing, increase happiness and foster improved and flourishing relationships with each other.

At Salvado Catholic College we have many reasons to be grateful, appreciative and blessed.  At times life can be so busy that we forget to stop and show our appreciation, even though we may have the thought in our mind to do it.

In the front office on Mrs Atwell’s desk you will find a Gratitude Jar with paper and pen for you to write a gratitude note to a staff member or the staff as a collective and then place it in the jar. You can be confident knowing that these messages will be given to the person/s they are written for.

Thank you to those families who have taken the time to drop a gratitude note into the jar at the front office.  It would be great if we could fill the jar before the end of term!

Have a happy week everyone and remember to take time to show your gratitude!
