Kilvington Centenary (cont'd)

Centenary Fair and Open Day

It was a perfect sunny day in March when our Kilvington community came together for the Centenary Fair and Open Day 2023. Past, present and prospective students and families enjoyed the festive atmosphere around the School, with numerous rides, activities, food stalls, market stalls and entertainment throughout the day.

A huge thank you to Sarah Lim (Class of 2003), Peter Yu (Class of 2017), Rachel Cetrola (Class of 2018), George Crossingham (Class of 2017) and Ann Cleghorn (Class of 1977) who helped run the Alumni Stall. The team set up the archival display featuring uniforms from the 1950s to today, chatted to past students and families, sold centenary merchandise and promoted upcoming reunions and alumni events.

Centenary Foundation Day Service

At the end of Term 2, the whole Kilvington community gathered at St Paul’s Cathedral in the city for the Centenary Foundation Day Service.

It was wonderful to see the large numbers of parents and Kilvonians join the event that paid tribute to Kilvington’s founders.

The keynote address was delivered by Kilvonian Michelle Crawford (nee Sainsbury, Class of 1988) who reiterated Kilvington's sense of community and how the school motto, non nobis sed omnibus (‘not for our own, but others’ good’) has been a guiding principle for her journey in life.

Helen Barraclough (nee Flight) attended the service along with other Kilvonians from the Class of 1963.

'We had a lovely day, with six of us from our 1963 year group braving an early start to join in with our much honoured, enriched, yet still authentic school with strong values, for our Centenary Service. It was so good to see all the students dressed in their neat smart uniforms and their orderly participation.

Following the service, we returned with memories to the destination of Kilvington’s past annual participation in Youth Sunday March and enjoyed a modest lunch catered by the genuine volunteer ladies at our Collins Street Baptist Church. It was a joyful outing for us. Thank you.'
