Kilvonian happenings

In 2023, Kilvington celebrates its centenary year. To commemorate this momentous milestone, our whole school community has been engaging in a variety of meaningful events and initiatives.

It has been wonderful to welcome our alumni to our school events, including the VIP Centenary Morning Tea, Centenary Fair and Open Day, Centenary Foundation Day Service and, most recently, the Centenary Annual Concert.

We also added a special inclusion for guests at the Walsh Club Lunch, a special event for all those who attended Kilvington 50 or more years ago, connecting our students from the past and present.

Our regular schedule of reunions has seen many past students come together in the Kilvington Sport Centre, reminiscing on life at school, and catching up on news while enjoying a few drinks and nibbles. We look forward to hosting the remaining reunions for our Centenary year.

Alumni committee update

The Kilvington Alumni Committee has continued to develop the offering for past students, providing the opportunity for connection and involvement in School activities.

After a successful trial in 2022, the Kilvington Mentor Matching Program was run again this year with involvement from five Kilvonians. Through regular catch-ups, the Year 11 mentees had the opportunity to ask questions about potential career paths and develop an understanding about life outside the Kilvington gates.

The Committee set up and ran the Alumni stall at the Centenary Fair and Open Day in March and are currently planning a special all-peer Kilvonian Konnections event with involvement from past staff.

We sincerely thank all members of the Alumni Committee for their time, efforts and energy including: Sarah Lim (President), Class of 2003; Sarah McSwiney, Class of 1999; Ann Cleghorn, Class of 1977; Charan Naidoo, Class of 2017; Peter Yu, Class of 2017; Rachel Cetrola, Class of 2018; Mitchell Cole, Class of 2019, and Elisabeth Yeo, Class of 2019.

KEEN TO JOIN THE ALUMNI COMMITTEE?

The Kilvonian Alumni Committee is an active group that works to uphold the following mission statement: To build a community of former students who enjoy and contribute to Kilvington’s rich culture of connection, relationships and care.

The Committee meets roughly five times a year to progress events and activities, expand and engage the Kilvington Alumni network, and represent the interests of alumni to the School.

All members are expected to attend, meaningfully contribute to discussions, and assist with allocated tasks.

We welcome an Expression of Interest from any Kilvonian who would like to join the Committee.
