Semester 2 Reports – A Celebration of Learning

Our end-of-year reports will be released shortly. These reports are designed to be a celebration of your child’s learning, growth and achievements throughout 2025. They offer a meaningful snapshot of how your child has progressed across the year—academically, socially and personally.

A reminder that with the updated Victorian Curriculum, students now receive a single progression point that encompasses all aspects of the curriculum. This holistic measure reflects the full breadth of your child’s learning, rather than separating achievement into multiple smaller indicators.

We encourage families to read reports with their children, celebrate successes, and acknowledge the effort, resilience and persistence shown across the year.

Maintaining Learning Over the Holiday Break

The holiday period is a wonderful time for children to rest, recharge and continue practising their learning in meaningful, authentic ways. Here are a few simple ideas:

✔ Write Cards of Thanks or Gratitude

Encourage your child to write to family, friends, teachers or community members. This builds writing stamina, spelling, sentence structure and reflection.

✔ Read as Often as Possible

Holiday reading can be relaxed and fun—picture storybooks, magazines, recipes, instructions, graphic novels or audiobooks. Regular reading helps maintain fluency, vocabulary and comprehension.

✔ Explore Everyday Learning Opportunities

  • Help with cooking to practise measuring, sequencing and reading recipes
  • Play board games that develop problem-solving, turn-taking and maths thinking
  • Keep a simple holiday journal or photo diary
  • Visit local parks, libraries or community events and talk about what they notice
  • Use real-life maths—telling time, handling money, estimating distances, counting, mapping

These small, enjoyable activities keep learning active and help children start the new year confidently.

Reflecting on an Incredible Year of Growth

Before the year ends, take a moment with your child to reflect on how much they have grown and learnt in 2025. Celebrate the big moments, the small steps and everything in between. Remind them that learning happens through consistent, everyday effort—and that these small steps accumulate into enormous growth over time.

We are incredibly proud of all our students and look forward to celebrating their achievements with you.

Have a wonderful, safe and relaxing holiday period. As always, it's been an absolute privilege being part of the teaching and learning this year and I can't wait to return in 2026 to keep developing the young minds of Skye.

Enjoy the festive season ahead!
