Sustainability

That's a wrap from Garden Club this year!
Our last garden club for the year saw us enjoying the last of our edible wonders - broad beans, cherries and strawberries.
The children thanked Anne for her support this year as they reflected on all the garden teachings we had. It's been a joy to see so many new students join us these last few weeks and we look forward to the Garden Club being back next year.
Donations Thank You - Insect Motel
A shout out to some new friends Christine and Ann from Baxter. We are purchasing some garden work benches, sustainably made, for our students to use in the imagination garden in 2026. They generously shared their knowledge and delightful garden with me - it was very inspiring indeed.
I shared stories about some of our students garden interests and am very grateful they are kindly donating an insect motel, which they made for us from bamboo.
- Insect motels boost pollination - Attracting native bees and other pollinators, increasing and fruit and vegetable growth,
- provides pest control-offers safe nesting, refuge from heat and predators, supports biodiversity in the garden - Creates microhabitats for various insects (ground beetles, earwigs, solitary bees)
- Provides food for birds, lizards, and supports the wider garden food web
- It is an educational tool - Raises awareness about the crucial role insects play in ecosystems.
Donations Thank You - Garden Statues
Thank you to the Wood/Fre family for their kind donation of garden statues. The students will enjoy seeing these in the garden.
Keep being green and enjoy your holidays
Ms Michelle
