Principal's Report

Welcome to the final newsletter of 2025! 

 

We are having a fabulous end of Term 4 and a very merry end of year. In the recent weeks we have had our Level 5/6 students go to the Zoo, select student represented Rangeview in the Junior & Senior State Final Hoop Time, our teachers met in their new teams for a planning week for Term 1, we had the school run Badminton Final's, our student leaders ran a free dress day, Level 3/4 students had their Fish and Chip lunch at Heatherdale Reserve, our Run Club had their celebration breakfast, School Council met for the last meeting of the year, some of our Level 6 Students received awards at a special assembly attended by Matt Gregg the Member for Deakin, Our Level 6 Students attending Government Schools went to the State Wide Orientation Day, students performed in Creative Music Concerts, Staff vs Students in a Volleyball match, and our Principal Class attended the final Riversdale Network Meeting. 

 

Next week to end the year we will publish student reports on COMPASS on Monday and have the whole school Student Leaders Assembly, Grade 6 and Grade 5 will have their end of year Excursions, we will run Whole School Carols at The Round on Tuesday, on Wednesday the students in Foundation to Level 5 will move to their new grades and meet their new teachers for a transition session, we will also celebrate Level 6 Graduation at Box Hill Town Hall, hold the whole school last day Assembly on Friday morning, and then a whole school Guard of Honour on the grassphalt at 1pm to farewell our Level 6s. 

 

The Term will end at 1.30pm on Friday 19th. 

Awards and Recognition 

On Monday this week we acknowledged a number of Level 6 students with awards. Some awards are part of the traditional Deakin Shield Awards and were presented by the Member for Deakin, Matt Gregg. Others are school awards and were presented by Rangeview Staff. The recipients were as follows:

In a separate ceremony Matthew Tweeddale was awarded the Rotary Unsung Hero Award. 

 

I congratulate all of the award recipients who have dedicated themselves to achieving some outstanding results in their field. Well done!

School Council

Our Rangeview School Council met on Monday 1st December here at School, and we held our final meeting for the year. 

 

We thank all of the members of the 2025 School Council - Simon Davies, Leigh Newton, Cassie Morris, Jess McKay, Lauren Harbeck, Maxi Bennett, Tatiana Regos, Michelle Cook, Gaurav Dudeja, Ambrin Ali, Mitch Clark, Kate McLeod, Liam Sommers, and Trudy Turner. 

 

We extend special thanks to Simon Davies who has been our School Council President for 3 years and will be leaving the school at the end of this year. Simon was instrumental in supporting the school through this year's School Review. We thank him most sincerely and wish him all the best for the future.

Whole School Carols Night

We will again be celebrating our whole school Carols evening at The Round! We hope all families will join us for a fabulous evening of music and celebration to mark the end of another wonderful year.

Student Reports

Student Reports for Semester 2, 2025 will be available on the Compass Parent Portal on Monday 15th December 2025 at 3.30pm. Please contact the school office if you need assistance with your Compass login.

Friday 19th - End of Term 4

The last day of the school term is Friday 19th December. We will begin the day with a whole school assembly and families are welcome to attend. There will be a Guard of Honour at 1pm on the grassphalt to farewell our Level 6 Students. 

There is a 1:30pm finish on this day and Theircare will be available for those families that need it. 

 

The first day of Term 1 2026 is Wednesday 28th January for all students from Level 1 to Level 6. Our new Foundation students will start Thursday 29th January. 

 

We wish all of our families a safe and happy holiday period and we look forward to an action packed year full of learning, new experiences and engagement in 2026!
