Year 1 Update

Our Learning for Weeks 9 & 10
| English | We are learning to recognise and decode the grapheme ue using the Speed Sounds and Chants cards: ue, true blue ice-cream and ew, the wind blew. |
| Maths | We are learning to create, continue and describe the nature of many types of patterns (colour, size, shape, number). |
| Inquiry | We are celebrating our learning by visiting The Big Goose and reflecting on what we have learnt this term relating to our topic of Farm to Table. |
| SEL | We are learning to identify when we feel stressed and developing strategies to deal with our stress. |
News and Reminders:
- Monday 8th December - End of Year Extravaganza 4:00pm - 5:15pm on the synthetic oval near the amphitheatre. The event will include Christmas song performances by classes, staff and Year 6 student farewells and our annual Christmas raffle.
- Tuesday, 9th December – Statewide Transition Day (Sessions 1 and 2). Students will begin the day in their usual classrooms. They will then move to their 2026 class to meet their new teacher and classmates and take part in some 'getting to know you' activities together.
- Friday 12th December - Class Parties. A note will be sent home regarding this with a suggestion of what your child could bring to share with the class.
- Monday 15th December - Last Day of 2025 classes.
- Tuesday 16th - Thursday 18th Dec - Step Up. Student will be in their 2026 classes.
- Thursday 18th December - Early dismissal. Students finish at 2:30pm.
- Friday 19th December - Curriculum Day. No students required at school.
