Prep Update

Our Learning - Weeks 9 & 10

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL):

*To identify situations that can make people feel stressed and to describe coping strategies that can be used to respond to stress.

*To draw pictures that show us doing something that can help us to cheer up when we feel down.

English:

*Revise Heart words and speed sounds with the use of our Chitter Chatter Chant cards.

*To add the suffix 'ing' to words and identify words that have the suffix 'ing' added to the end of them, such as 'painting'.                         

*To write about a picture prompt.

*To explore the different types of poetry, such as colour, rainbow and acrostic poems.

*To practise writing their own colour, rainbow and acrostic poems.

Maths:

*To practise forming digits correctly, review prior learning and revise concepts with our Maths Daily Review.

*To figure out two more of a number while playing the 'two more' spinner game.

*To figure out two less of a number while playing the 'two less' spinner game.

*Count from different starting numbers.

*Count from the larger number to find the total.

Inquiry:

*To reflect on our learning for our unit on toys.

*To write and express an opinion on our learning about toys.

Friendly Reminders:

-Monday, 8th December - End of Year Extravaganza! 4 - 5:15pm

-Statewide Orientation Day - Tuesday 9th December: 9 - 11am (Students meet their new teachers and classmates in their classroom for next year).

-Friday 12th December - Class parties. Information about these will be sent out very soon.

-Last Day 2025 classes - Monday 15th December

-Crazy Sock and Salvation Army donation day - Monday 15th December

-2026 Step Up classes - Tues 16th –Thursday 18th December

-Last day of term - Thursday 18th December. Students finish at 2:30pm.

-Curriculum Day - Friday 19th December. Students are not required at school.
