Our Learning - Weeks 9&10

Pre-Reading: 

Identifying the printed letter and its sound and thinking about other words that start with the same letter

Playing word games and alphabet bingo

Exploring rhyming words through books

Pre-Writing:  

Telling a story through their drawings/paintings

Children signing themselves in on arrival

Strengthening and refining fine motor skills

Writing letters to family, friends and to Santa

STEM :  

For children to explore the concept of maps through drawing their walk to school or recognising common places on maps

For the children to explore the concepts of numbers and one to one correspondence

For the children to explore and to begin to consolidate learning of the different services in the community, roles their parents play 

For the children to explore the role of the emergency services in helping our community and in keeping us safe

Long Day Care

Did you know we offer Long Day Care, including three and four-year-old Kindergarten with Child Care Subsidy? 

As a not-for-profit service, our fees are lower than those of other services in this area. 

We are open from 7am to 6pm, and the kindergarten program runs from 9am to 2.30pm each day. 

Limited places left for 2026. Please come and visit for a tour, and we can tell you more about the program. 

After the Child Care Subsidy, you pay the gap fee, minus the state government's free Kindergarten, with $2000 offset from your fees via a fortnightly deduction over the year. 

The ELC also offers 15 hours a week of sessional free three and four-year-old kindergarten; enrolment is through Casey Council. 

Enrolments for free 3 and 4 year old sessional kindergarten. 

Enrol through Casey Council for Hillsmeade Kindergarten. 

Long Day Care enrolments with kindergarten is through the ELC office.
