Director of Learning and Teaching

As we reach the end of 2025, it is important to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of our students from Foundation through to Year 12. Our students have shown curiosity, resilience and a willingness to engage in their learning. We are proud of how our students have embraced challenges, supported each other, continuing to challenge themselves to improve both inside and outside of the classroom. Their achievements reflect their effort, positive mindset and the strong partnerships between the classroom and families.
This year we saw strong growth in both our standardised assessments and the learning progress shown through our teachers’ own classroom judgements, reflecting the steady, meaningful improvement of our students. Students demonstrated improvement in key areas of literacy and numeracy across Foundation – Year 10, reflecting the impact of their hard work and the consistent, evidence-based practices implemented across the College. These results affirm our focus on high-quality instruction and support. The commitment of our teachers to implementing evidence-based, explicit instruction practices has made a significant difference to student learning. Through thoughtful planning, consistent routines and teaching strategies, they have created classrooms where every child can succeed. Their efforts have not only supported strong learning gains—they have been recognised beyond our College community. The work of our Primary teams has been featured as case studies for both the Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership and the MultiLit program. This is an outstanding achievement and a testament to their expertise, professionalism and dedication to every student’s growth. The work of our VCE and VCE VM teaching team in ensuring that our senior students have been given the best possible opportunity to achieve their chosen senior pathway.
Thank you to our teachers, learning support officers, administration teams, and everyone who contributes to the running of our College. The consistent effort, professionalism and focus on effective teaching have been central to the progress our students have made this year. This leads to the calm and purposeful learning environments where students can participate confidently and meet high expectations.
To our students: well done on your achievements this year and the progress you’ve made. To our staff: thank you for your consistent effort and commitment to quality teaching. And to our families: thank you for your ongoing support and partnership.
I wish everyone a safe and restful break with friends and family.
