Week 8 - Mr. Ryan's Report

As we arrive at Week 8 of the term, it is hard to believe how quickly the weeks are passing. With only a short time remaining before the end of term, students and staff are continuing to engage in meaningful learning and a wide range of activities.

In PE, students have been developing their skills in various athletics events, including triple jump, discus, javelin, and shot put. These activities demand both technique and persistence, and it has been pleasing to see students approaching them with focus and enthusiasm. Staff have noted steady improvement and a willingness from students to support one another and challenge themselves during these sessions.

More broadly, it has been encouraging to witness the positive behaviors demonstrated by the majority of our students across the school. Whether in the classroom, in the yard, or during extracurricular activities, many students are showing respect, responsibility, and a genuine sense of pride in their learning and school community. We appreciate these efforts and the positive impact they have on the culture of our college.

As always, we’d like to remind families of the importance of regular attendance. Being at school every day plays a vital role in supporting learning progress, maintaining routines, and building strong connections with peers and staff. If your child is absent, please ensure that the school is notified promptly, and encourage a timely return wherever possible.

Thank you for your continued support, and I look forward to sharing further updates in the coming weeks.

Warm regards,

Mr. Ryan

Year 8 Advisory

Year 8's practised their teamwork, patience and communication skills by playing the "water game". The team that managed to add more water without causing it to spill, won the game.

7 - 10 PE

7-10 PE have been learning and perfecting athletic event skills in readiness for the College Aths carnival in term 3.

Year 9 IT

The Year 9s have spent the last few weeks learning about a programming language called ‘Python’. The have been using the input function to get the computer to ask the user a question, and storing the answer given to it as a variable. They then used the print function to display that answer.
