Weekly Wrap: Year 3/4
This week in 3/4 we practised our typing skills and completed our Word Origins lessons on the Greek combined forms of ‘graphy/graph’ meaning a writing, drawing or picture of and ‘logy’ meaning the study of. We were able to add bio (life), geo (earth) and auto (self) to these forms to make a variety of new words. Students were also busily creating their story maps based off our model text ‘Stone Trolls’, which is inspired by the Reynisdrangar rock formations of Icelandic folklore. In Numeracy, we were learning to balance an equation that contained missing information and then we created our mining licences in Humanities. Finally, in Digital Tech we were learning to write code that could program our micro:bits to act as digital dice.

Book Review by Austin
Austin recommended the book 'Do Not Open This Book' by Andy Lee. The picture book is a comedy with the main character being the blue monster. The setting of the story is the book itself. The monster tries to make us stop reading the book because if we get to the last page, then he will turn into a frog. He would recommend the book to Foundation students and rates it 4/5 stars.
