Acting Principal

Kristen Le Gassick

Last week Natasha, Kim and I attended the Principal's Conference in Melbourne. Each of us left with some great takeaways. Kim attended a session focussing on the implementation of Maths Vic Curriculum 2.0 and had some strategies she could take back to the team at school. Natasha attended a workshop where a school shared the work they had undertaken with school attendance, she has a number of ideas we will look at in term 3. I attended a workshop run by Rochester Primary school where they shared their approach with rebuilding the school and school community after the floods.  In addition, there were keynote speakers that discussed leadership and further workshops. During the breaks we had the opportunity to connect with staff from a range of programs and initiatives in the Department of Education.

Unfortunately, I succumbed to one of the bugs going around at school and spent the rest of the week at home.  There is a bit going around the school at the moment, it is a good reminder to all to follow good hygiene practices and to keep your child home if they are unwell.

On Tuesday I attended the Primary assembly, it was lovely to hear a book review and students reading their written work from across the grades.

Congratulations to Darcy McCallum on his ongoing appointment to Wedderburn College starting Term 3. We are grateful for his teaching and leadership at the college  over many years and hope that this appointment supports his growth as both a teacher and leader.
