Founders Day 2025 - A Walking Celebration

DCS Founders, Association Members, past staff and students, are invited to join us on Thursday, 19th June, for our 2025 Founder’s Day Celebration Walk and Morning Tea, a special journey through our school’s present day. As we stroll through the grounds, we will pause at various locations to enjoy presentations by current students, before gathering in the Jiloa Centre for morning tea, reflection, and celebration.

At DCS we deeply value our heritage and honouring the Founders who embraced the vision of bringing Christian education to Devonport. We are grateful to many who continue to pray for our school and those who are able to financially sow into the school with tax deductible donations to our building fund. We are especially excited to share updates on our future new Year 9/10 Centre building project which is well underway. The near future, in 2026, DCS will be educating Kinder through to Year 10 students and have projected over 460 students.

We will gather at the Jiloa Centre at 9:15am on Thursday 19th June. A delicious hot beverage will be available before we commence our ‘DCS Celebration Walk’ at 9:30am.

Please RSVP through the following link: 2025 Founder’s Day RSVP email admin@dcs.tas.edu.au or call 6423 1373 by Friday 13th June.

ICAS Competition

We are delighted to inform you that Devonport Christian School will be participating in the world-renowned ICAS Assessments again this year.

What is ICAS?

ICAS is an online academic competition that gives students the opportunity to challenge their higher order thinking and problem-solving skills in English, Mathematics, Science, Writing, Spelling Bee, and Digital Technologies.

Every student who participates is celebrated and recognised with a printed certificate in each subject area, and an online results report to track development each year. Top performers are eligible for ICAS medals.

We encourage you to consider entering your children in Years 2 to 9 into ICAS this year. The assessments are suitable for students wishing to extend themselves academically and take up the personal challenge of competing in an international assessment. Your child will be presented with high-quality, expert-developed questions, allowing them to apply their learning without the need for prior study or revision.

You may nominate and pay for your child to participate in any or all of the following competitions. Please note that Writing, Digital Technologies and Spelling Bee are not available for Year 2 students and we are not offering Spelling Bee for Year 8 and 9 students.
