Students in Year 6 celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation yesterday evening. It was a beautiful ceremony that was celebrated by Bishop Richard Umbers. Confirmation continues the initiation process, a perfecting and completing of Baptism. The Holy Spirit empowers us to be the best Christians we can be. Thank you to all those who helped in the preparation of the students for this special occasion.
Last week, the Year 6 students participated in a retreat day to prepare for their upcoming Confirmation. The day was filled with reflection and spiritual growth as they explored the story of Pentecost, participated in Reconciliation, and spent time in Adoration. Thank you to the Year 6 parents who were able to join in their prayerful experience.
A heartfelt thank you to all of the families who joined us at our Family Parish Mass on June 8th to celebrate Pentecost. It was wonderful to see so many of you there as we marked this special occasion together. Your presence made the celebration even more meaningful.
Last week, Tuesday 10 June, St Aidan’s came together for Pyjama Day. As a community we collected 293 winter woolie items. This includes socks, scarves, beanies, gloves and blankets which will be donated to the St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal. These donations will definitely help those experiencing difficult times this winter.
IT IS NOT TO LATE TO DONATE!
We will be collecting items until the end of term. I thank you to all thoes who have donated to this cause already. You are making a difference in our world!
So far we collected the following: 70 packets of noodles, 49 packets of pasta, 29 jars of pasta sauce, 98 canned foods, 26 cans of milo, 122 different types of toiletries and over 50 packets of tea, coffee and sugar.
Our final date for collection will be next Friday, 27th of June.

This is just a reminder that the Walk with Christ Procession is on this Sunday 22 June. In recent years, Sydney Catholic Schools has been well represented at the procession and all students and their families are warmly invited to attend again this year.
Students in Year 3 and higher who have not received their First Holy Communion are welcome to complete this sacrament this year. The Holy Family Parish has confirmed the date for Sunday 31 August. The time for this event has not been confirmed.
Please find important dates below:
Students will prepare for this sacrament at school with Miss Siapkas, Miss Smithson, Father Allan and Father Anderson. More information about this special occasion will be shared with parents later in the year.
