We are so excited for camp!!!!!

We can't wait to share the excitement, challenges and fun with this fabulous group of kids!! We are already so proud of their organisation, independence and kindness.

District Cross Country

What an incredible day we had at Quambee reserve. Everyone did their personal best and we were so proud of the sportspersonship we saw on the day.

Congratulations to all our amazing participants!!!! We are so proud of you!!!

Literacy

In Reading, Speaking and listening and Inquiry, Level 5 have focused in on ethical dilemmas and thinking routines. We have been listening to the 'Short and curly' podcast and then responding and discussing how we feel and would react to certain situations. Students have been challenged to think about their own ethics and values. It has been wonderful to hear the different passionate points of view and see the respectful way students have been relating to each other. We have been writing about the benefits of school camp and our hopes and wishes for our time away.

Numeracy

Students have been focused on converting units of measurement in relation to length. We used a paper plane making and flying activity to measure with trundle wheels in meters and centimetres. We have now moved on to measuring angles with protractors and calculating missing angles. Students have shown a solid understanding of the different types of angles and their degrees.

Friendology and Respectful Relationships

The main theme of Respectful Relationships this week has been solving problems with different strategies. We have been looking at different friendship scenarios and how to deal with them, showing kindness and respect.

HEPS Friendoleaders at Work with Level 1

With the help of our Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader, Level 5 Friendoleaders have been planning and teaching a Friendology lesson to our Level 1 students. Level 5 students displayed terrific leadership and agency in their own learning. Level 1 students were taught new skills on how to make a new friend.
