Inspiring Future Educators

A day in the life of a childcare worker
Recently, sixteen students from Years 9, 10, and 12 attended the Childhood Education and Care Careers Event, hosted by Liverpool Girls High School and the Educational Pathways Program. The event included hands-on activities - including painting, clay modelling, and music, illustrating the importance of play in early childhood education.
Students interacted with industry professionals from various childcare centres and Registered Training Organisations, gaining insights into career paths and qualifications.
They also heard from two guest speakers who shared their experiences as School Based Trainees, emphasising the balance of life, work, and study while making a difference in young children’s lives.
Most students have registered for the next phase, which includes “A Day in the Life of a Childcare Worker” or a more extensive work experience of up to five days.
Special thanks to Rhonda Stone, our Senior Project Officer - Regional Industry Education Partnerships, Careers and Pathways Program, for facilitating this valuable experience.
