What is Anxiety or Anxious feelings?
It is your body getting ready for things like a competition, a race, a footy game, or exams. Headspace describes Anxiety as uncomfortable feelings that our body has when it’s approaching something new or unfamiliar to us. Did you know that feeling anxious is actually normal and helps us to be sharp and focused for what we need to do. So, feeling anxious can help us to do good work.
Anxious feelings can become a bit of a problem when they get in the way of us being able to do the things we’d like to do.
What can you do to help with Anxiety?
There are a range of different approaches.
1) The 3 3 3 strategy – what are 3 things you can feel, what are 3 things you can smell, what are 3 things you can see?
2) Listen to music that helps you to feel more relaxed and grounded.
3) Go for a walk or a run.
4) Take time to do a craft or hobby that gives you joy.
