Mobile Phones
This is a friendly reminder that while students are permitted to bring mobile phones to school, they must be switched off and securely stored in the designated tubs in the learning centre upon arrival each morning. Phones should not be used before school or during the school day.
Similarly, smart watches must not be used to send or receive messages, make calls, or access apps during school hours. Students are expected to ensure their smart watches are set to school mode throughout the day to minimise distractions and support a focused learning environment.
If you need to contact your child during school hours, please do so via the school office, and we will ensure your message is passed on.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Math - Loopy Aeroplane Investigation
As part of our Science and Maths learning, students took part in a fun activity called the Loopy Aeroplane Investigation. Using paper, tape, and a straw, they created simple flying planes with two loops, one at the front and one at the back.
Students tested how the size and position of the loops affected how far and straight their planes would fly. They made predictions, tested their ideas, and talked about what worked best. Some students even graphed their results to show further understanding.
This hands-on activity helped students explore how things fly and understand ideas like balance, air resistance, and movement, all while having fun!
Science Week Fun: Exploring with M&Ms, Skittles, and a Bit of Mould!
As part of Science Week, our Grade 6 students engaged in a variety of hands-on experiments designed to spark curiosity and deepen their understanding of scientific concepts. Using M&Ms and Skittles, students investigated colour diffusion and observed the fascinating patterns that formed when the lollies were placed in water. These colourful experiments allowed students to make predictions, test their ideas, and discuss the outcomes together.
In addition to these activities, students have also been working on a longer-term mouldy bread experiment. This investigation explores how mould grows under different conditions, such as light, moisture, and exposure to air. Students have been recording their observations over time, learning about microorganisms, and discussing the factors that influence mould growth.
It’s been a fantastic opportunity for our students to think like scientists. Asking questions, testing ideas, and drawing conclusions based on real-life observations.
Level 4 Sport
This Friday, our Level 4 students have the exciting opportunity to participate in interschool sport, proudly representing our school in a range of games including netball, football, soccer, t-ball, rounders and lawn bowls. Now we wait to see which of our students have made into District with their chosen sports!
Go Green Day
On Monday the 30th of June we are looking at making our school cleaner! Students can come to school wearing something Green, no gold coin donation needed.
Winter Cozy Day
On Thursday the 3rd July, we’ll be spending some special time together as a cohort! To celebrate, students are invited to come to school in comfy clothing, which can include pyjamas, onesies, oodies, and slippers. If your child has PE they must bring their school uniform. Please remember to pack runners for recess and lunch play as they cannot wear slippers outside.
We kindly ask students to bring a gold coin donation to support our graduation at school this year!
We’re looking forward to a fun and relaxed day together!
