Market Day 2025
There are no words to adequately describe how proud we are of all the efforts put in by the Year 5 students, for our Market Day 2025! And an extra HUGE thank you goes out to all the parents who gave time out of their busy schedules to help the children with discussions, testing, advice, play dates and making the final product. Thank you also to those parents who were able to volunteer some time on the actual day to do a LOT of running around.
What’s even more exciting than all of the above, was that all the profits went to the student-chosen charity ‘Youth Off The Streets’. The themes of empathy, kindness, and being mindful of those less fortunate than ourselves have all come about from reading our class novel, The Night Bus Hero, by Onjali Q. Rauf. If you haven’t read it, we highly recommend!
Early figures are showing that we raised over $2000 for this very worthy cause !!!!

In the Classroom:
Science:
This week was also Science Week, which saw Year 5 students looking at chemical changes. We looked at how and why M&M’s and Skittles react differently to different substances due to positive and negative charges in molecules. One group even saw a floating ‘s’ in their experiment! Can you spot it?
Term 3 Camp
We are beginning to finalise the planning for the Year 5 camp (Wednesday 6th - Friday 8th August). Thank you to those families who have completed the permissions and payments on Compass. If you haven't completed these as yet, could you please do so when you get a chance, as they are due by Monday 21st July. If you require any information or assistance, please contact the office.
As a major part of the program is the costumed experience, it is important that students have the correct attire for Day 2 and 3. Leather shoes/boots and long socks are required by all students. We will be sending out details for this via compass by the end of the term.

Friday 4th – Last day of Term 2 – finish at 2.30!
Monday 21st – First day of Term 3.

Wednesday 6th to Friday 8th – Sovereign Hill Camp
