Welcome to the final newsletter for Term 2! It is hard to believe that we are finished Semester One (almost!) and have made it half way through the year. Teachers have been working hard to prepare student Semester Reports, and these will be made available on Compass next Thursday. Please make sure to check the Reports section of your child's Compass page, and take some time to chat about it with your child.
Please click on the link below for details about the reports.
A reminder that students finish school next Friday July 4 at 2:30pm.
In Term 3, we have Student free days on Wednesday August 13, and Friday September 19 (which is the last day of term)
Congratulations to all students who had their art work on display as part of the Art Trail this week. A huge thank you to Mrs Simpson for coordinating the trail and helping students create such amazing pieces of Art. It was wonderful to see so many families walking through the school and viewing the beautiful displays, as well as the impressive collection of entries into the Art Competitions.
Just a reminder that all students who bring mobile phones to school must hand them to the teacher as soon as they arrive for the day. This is a Ministerial Order, and something that is mandatory in all Government Schools, both Primary and Secondary.
We also ask that students who are wearing Smart Watches with cellular connectivity also hand these in to teachers at the beginning of the day. We have recently had some students using their watches to send messages during the day, which is not permitted. We kindly ask that parents support this and chat with their students about the rules around mobile and communication devices.
Our school policy on the use of Mobile Phones and Smart Watches can be found on the school website, and we welcome any questions you may have.
The Victorian Government has delivered the School Saving Bonus (SSB) – a one-off support of $400 for eligible government school students from Prep to Year 12 in 2025.
The SSB can be used for approved uniforms and textbooks until Monday 30 June 2025.
Any funds remaining after 30 June 2025, including online voucher amounts that have not been redeemed, will become a credit to use on school activities. However, the credit will not be available on your family account at our school until late July.
To use any remaining SSB funds to cover the cost of school activities in July, please refer to the SSB online system and allocate the funds to school activities before 30 June 2025.
To learn more about the SSB online system, download the step-by-step System guide for parents and carers (DOCX, 945KB) or watch this School Saving Bonus video. System guide translations are also available in 14 languages.
The Department of Education’s SSB contact centre will remain available until 30 June 2025. The contact centre can be reached by:
After this date, please contact our administration team for any SSB related questions.
Thank you to all the parents and carers who have been so supportive of teachers and students over the last 6 months. We have had some amazing achievements, activities and experiences for students, and we cannot wait to see what Terms 3 and 4 have in store!
Have a wonderful break, and we look forward to seeing you all back at school on Monday July 21.
Jess, Joy & Jacci.
