MENTAL HEALTH & WELLBEING

Engagement and Wellbeing Term 2

Western Heights & Chilwell Mentoring Program

This term the Year 6 girls have been going to Western Heights College for a mentoring program. We did lots of fun activities and discussed gratitude & empathy, coping strategies and how to make new friendships.

We got to meet our Year 9 buddies every fortnight.

On the first week we had a tour of the school and got to meet our buddies for the first

time and fill in a get to know me sheet about ourselves and our buddies.

On the second week we got to learn more about gratitude and our buddies

made us a fruit platter for a snack which we all really enjoyed.

Unfortunately on the third week we couldn't go because of a bus strike.

In the end, going to Bounce made up for it. At Bounce we played dodge ball

against our buddies. The Western Heights girls won but that didn't stop us

from having lots of fun. We are really grateful that we got to have this opportunity.

Grade 5 Bareena Bowls Club Group

This term a group of Grade 5 boys ventured across to Bareena Bowls Club each week.

The group learned the art of lawn bowls, cooking and making tye dye t-shirts. The group had great fun and it was a terrific chance to learn new skills and develop strong connections with their classmates. Wendy at Bareena was a terrific help to the boys and we really appreciated her guidance with the group. Congratulations to Nic, Oscar, Henry, Alec, Will P, William M and Drew for being a wonderful group.
