Art
Grace Tyrrell
In Term 3, students will focus on creating a series of artworks for our upcoming art show at the end of Term 3. Students will continue to develop their knowledge and skills through the art forms of modelling, painting, drawing, and construction. Artists that will be a major focus are John Dyer, as well as Caitlind R.C Brown and Wayne Garrett. Some artworks students will create include a winter clay rainbow, a painting of an autumn tree scene, and some painted paper constructed flowers. In addition to regularly sharing and discussing our work, art appreciation will be further explored during our art show ‘The Seasons’.
Auslan
Michelle Rees
In Term 3, students will focus on continuing to build their Auslan skills through a range of engaging topics and activities. They will learn signs related to zoo animals and AFL teams, helping to expand their vocabulary in fun and meaningful ways. The big focus of this term will be on storytelling, where students will explore the use of constructed action, depicted signs, and role shift to represent different characters and perspectives. They will also be introduced to SASS (Size and Shape Specifiers), which allows them to describe the appearance and features of objects more clearly. These skills will help students develop greater fluency and expressiveness in Auslan, while also deepening their understanding of how the language works visually and spatially.
Performing Arts
Peter Humphries
In Term 3, students will continue developing their creativity through an exciting combination of music, dance, and drama. In music, students will explore how sound can be represented using symbols, learning to read and create simple graphic scores. They will experiment with sounds made from found objects, homemade instruments, and shakers they create themselves. Students will sort sounds, develop soundscapes, and explore how movement can match different sounds and rhythms. Singing and playing simple instruments will continue to build their musical understanding.
In drama, students will participate in theatre-based group games, respond to improvisation challenges, and develop simple dance movements as a form of storytelling. The focus will be on building confidence, encouraging collaboration, and nurturing self-expression in a fun and supportive environment.
Physical Education

In Term 3, students will focus on refining and consolidating running, dodging and sequenced movement skills with correct action, accuracy and a variety of speeds. Through fitness activity and games, they will engage in moderate to vigorous activities. Students will also explain the contribution rules and procedures make to the safe conduct of games and activities and will apply these in games. Students will also concentrate on skills specific to teeball, cricket and catchball.
