Teaching & Learning - Simone Roche

This week, we were delighted to welcome our Years 7–10 families and students to our annual Subject Selection Evening. Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to such a positive and productive evening. We hope the event gave families valuable insight into the subject selection process, key dates, and the pathways ahead for 2026. We are deeply grateful for the ongoing partnership we share with our families as we support each student’s journey.

Here are a few important reminders from the presentation:

  • Families of Year 7 and 8 and 11 students are now invited to book their Homeroom Mentor Review Meetings through the Parent/Teacher/Student Meeting portal on MyMtA.
  • Families of Year 9 and 10 students should also book their SET Plan Meetings via the Parent/Teacher/Student Meeting portal on MyMtA.
  • Meetings will be held on Thursday and Friday of Week 1, Term 3 – the 17th and 18th July - and attendance is required for all students in Years 7-11.
  • To accommodate these important conversations, students will have Learning from Home Days on Thursday 17th and Friday 18th July 2025.
  • Students attend their review meeting in full College uniform and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  • Year 9 and 10 students are reminded to download their Pre-Set Plan form from their respective Graduates page on MyMtA, complete it, and upload it to the submission box before 12pm on Friday 27th June.
  • Years 7 and 8 students should submit their subject preferences by Sunday 11th August. Instructions for accessing the EdVal portal will be shared early in Term 3.
  • For all students in Year 7-10: submitting subject preferences in order of preference is essential. Please take the time to consider your preference list and submit them in order of priority.

A copy of the Subject Selection Evening presentations is available on MyMtA and families in Years 7-10 are encouraged to access the Subject Information Handbooks in the Futures Hub tile on MyMTA.

Thank you again for your engagement and support as we help guide our students in making thoughtful and informed choices for their learning.

I wish you all the very best for a restful and restorative holiday and I look forward to seeing our students return to campus on Monday, 14th July 2025.

Warm regards,

Simone Roche
