From the Assistant Principal's Desk (Springvale Campus)

Snapshots from Springvale

As we move towards the end Term 2, it's been wonderful to see students across all year levels deeply engaged in their learning. Chilly mornings and wintery days haven’t slowed anyone down—classrooms are alive with energy, curiosity and collaboration.

In the FLC our youngest learners have been working on their letter sounds and two-digit numbers.

In the JLC students have been building confidence with addition strategies as well as learning how to write imaginative texts. In the MLC students have been diving into the world of probability in Mathematics and learning how to decode unknown words in Reading. In the SLC the focus has been on decimal fractions as well as learning about asking questions during reading to help us to better understand the text.

We would like to extend a big thank you to our school community for supporting our recent Curriculum Day. While students enjoyed a well-earned day off, our dedicated teaching staff were hard at work completing Semester One assessment analysis and report writing. Teachers spent valuable time in their Professional Learning Teams analysing evidence of learning, moderating student work and preparing student reports.

With the recent cold weather, we would like to remind families to ensure that students are bringing clearly named jumpers and jackets to school. Layered clothing helps keep students comfortable and focused throughout the day, especially as they transition between warm classrooms and cooler outdoor spaces.

We look forward to continuing a strong term of learning together!
