Principals' Weekly Update

Dear Families
It’s been another exciting and busy week at Armadale Primary filled with creativity, curiosity, and collaboration across all year levels. I’m delighted to share some of the wonderful learning experiences that have been taking place around our school.
Year 5/6 Action Museum
Our Year 5/6 students showcased their learning through the creation of an incredible “Action Museum.” Students explored aspects of history and geography before selecting an area of personal interest to investigate further. They then shared their findings through a Gallery walk, with creative displays and artist statements that reflected their deep understanding and unique perspectives. It was inspiring to see such confident, knowledgeable young historians and geographers bringing their learning to life! Their parents and grandparents who came to see the exhibits were in awe of the children's final products and they commented on the excellence of each of the student's displays.
Prep Assembly – A Celebration of Writing
Our Preps took to the stage this week to host assembly, delighting the audience with a wonderful showcase of different types of writing. Some of our budding authors shared pieces they created during Investigations in the “Writer’s Den,” while others presented texts produced during scheduled writing sessions. Their enthusiasm, confidence, and developing literacy skills made us all very proud!
Teacher Collaboration – Data Sharing Session
Behind the scenes, our teachers have been engaging in a professional learning session focused on data sharing. Each year level team analysed data in a specific learning area and shared how this information could be used to differentiate and enhance teaching in their classrooms. Some unexpected insights emerged that were too good not to share; it’s always exciting when data sparks new ideas for supporting every learner’s growth!
What’s Coming Up
There’s much learning to look forward to over the next few weeks with these experiences afforded to the children:
- Year 3/4 Camp to Sovereign Hill – a hands-on goldfields experience that links to the Year 3/4 Big Idea "Significant events, symbols, and diverse perspectives have shaped Australia’s history and influenced how we understand its change over time"
- ‘Why Worry Wally’ Incursion – helping students build emotional awareness and resilience with a focus on transitioning.
- Drama Workshops for our Year 1 and 2 students – encouraging creativity and expression.
- Year 1 Excursion to Hays Paddock and Wombat’s Bend – exploring their Big Idea, 'Places in our Community are designed to meet people's needs.'
Thank you, as always, for your continued support and involvement in our school community. We are so proud of our students and staff for their hard work, curiosity, and creativity each and every day.
