Student Wellbeing

Hello to our wonderful school community,

As you would be aware St Andrew’s is a PBL school.

As such we aim to live out our school wide expectations of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience.

Each week teachers focus on one of these expectations and explicitly teach lessons based on promoting these values. They do this through reading, writing, role playing, artwork and discussion.

They have been doing this all year as well as holding weekly class meetings in which students are given a chance to voice their opinions on how these expectations are met and come up with ideas to further improve our wellbeing.

I then have the privilege of holding Student Voice meetings in which the PBL captains are able to bring any concerns and ideas they have from their classes. They then discuss these with each other and come up with innovative and helpful solutions that we do our best to act upon. This helps to not only promote student voice and agency but also give students a sense of empowerment and pride in what they have achieved by working together.

I thank you for working in partnership with our amazing staff and your beautiful children to support them in making St Andrew’s a place where Respect, Responsibility and Resilience are evident in all that we do so that the wellbeing of everyone is paramount.
