👕 Uniform Swap Shop:  Girls' Summer Uniforms

We are reaching out to our St Joey's community for help with stocking the Uniform Swap Shop!

We are currently in high demand for girls' summer uniforms. If you have any items your daughter has outgrown (but are still in good condition), we would genuinely appreciate your donation.

Donating helps other families and is a great way to recycle quality clothing. Thank you in advance for  supporting the Swap Shop!

✨  Pick-Up Arrangements Working Well!

We would like to express our appreciation to all parents and carers! The implementation of our new pick-up arrangements has been a great success, contributing to a much smoother and safer process for our students.

A Quick Review of the Pick-Up Procedure

• Parents/Carers, please come to the gate to collect your child.

• Students will remain seated on the bench seats inside the fence until they are individually dismissed.

This approach ensures the safety and efficient transition of every student.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation in making afternoon collection safe for everyone!

Week 6: November 18th - 21st (This Week)

• Tuesday: Hannah Caterer - Music. Phil Merrick (QHS) visiting Year 6 students (after recess)
• Wednesday: School Advisory Council Meeting (5:00 pm); PT&F Meeting (6:00 pm), followed by dinner at Peach Blossom
• Friday: Kinder Readiness

Week 7: November 24th - 28th

• Monday: Official opening of the Quirindi Aquatic Centre (Mrs Long and Leaders to attend)
• Tuesday: School Counsellor onsite. Hannah Caterer - Music
• Wednesday: School Counsellor onsite. Swimming (11:30 am - 1:00 pm)
• Thursday: Principals' Meeting
• Friday: Principals' Meeting; Kinder Readiness

Week 8: December 1st - 5th

• Monday: School Counsellor onsite; Year 5 students present their Captain Speech at 2.00pm in the school library. Parents welcome to attend.
• Tuesday:  Quirindi High School Orientation Day for Year 6 students
• Wednesday: Swimming (11:30 am - 1:00 pm)
• Thursday: Presentation Day (9:15 am) in the Fr Stan Campbell Hall, followed by farewell morning tea for Mrs Long
• Friday: Kinder Readiness

Week 9: December 8th - 12th

• Sunday: Family Mass (9:30 am)
• Tuesday: School Counsellor onsite
• Wednesday: Swimming (11:30 am - 1:00 pm). School Counsellor onsite
• Friday: Kinder Readiness - Last Day;  End of Year Mass and Year 6 Farewell Mass 9.30am All Welcome

Week 10: December 15th - 17th

• Monday: School Counsellor onsite; Year 6 Graduation Dinner (5:30 pm) - Order via Compass
• Tuesday: Year 6 Big Day Out - Permissions and payment via Compass
• Wednesday: Swimming (11:30 am - 1:00 pm). Last Day for Students

📅 2026 School Return Dates

Please note the following dates for the start of the 2026 school year:

• Year 1 - 6 students return: Thursday, January 29th
• Kindergarten students return will be advised in next week's newsletter.

If you choose the 'open in browser' option when you access Compass—especially from your phone—things generally seem to work better!

🚌 Important: Changes to Travel Arrangements

If you need to make any change to your child's usual travel or pick-up arrangements for the day (e.g., catching a different bus, or a different person collecting them), please ensure you notify the school before 2pm to allow us to communicate the change to your child and their teacher.

🔔 Important:  Student Absences on Compass

It is vital that all student absences are explained on the Compass platform. Please note the following important guidelines:

• Time limit: You must explain all absences on Compass within 7 calendar days of the absence occurring.
• Outcome: Once the 7-day period has passed, you will no longer be able to make any changes, and the unexplained absence will be reflected in your child’s end-of-semester school report.
• Action: If your child is absent, please log on to Compass and explain the absence on the day it occurs, if possible.
• Reminders: Please be aware of the automated reminder messages sent out via Compass:
  • One message is sent on the day of absence between 9:30 am and 10:00 am.
  • A second reminder for any outstanding unexplained absences for the week is sent every Friday at 11:00 am.

Your prompt attention to this is greatly appreciated as it helps us maintain accurate attendance records.
