From the Principal Class Team

Dear MRC Community,

It is already the end of Week 6 and we are now on the home stretch until the end of 2025. We have had an incredibly busy couple of weeks with some wonderful achievements from our students.

VCAA exams

Next week sees the end of the VCAA exams for students who were studying a Year 12 subject. A huge congratulations to all involved from students to staff and families who helped support their children to do their best under pressure and stress. Results for our students who have studied a Year 12 subject will be released on Thursday 11th of December at 7.00am.

VCE results and support

Students are able to access their results via the VCAA results portal- information about how to access that has been placed on Microsoft Teams for students. If students or families are having any issues with access, or have questions in relation to results, please contact the Pathways Team.

Students are invited to visit the Pathways office on Thursday 11th of December and Friday 12th of December for assistance in finalising tertiary course selection.

Upcoming Celebrations and Graduations

Celebrations for our Prep, Year 4, Year 6 and Year 9 students are coming up!

More information will be communicated via Compass and email in the coming week.

A reminder that our Year 12 Graduation takes place on Tuesday 25th of November at the Hill Stand-Flemington Racecourse. Please note that doors open for canapes and drinks from 5.45pm with the ceremony to commence shortly afterwards. It will be a brilliant night to congratulate our graduates.

VCE second handbook sale

This year, we will be continuing our second-hand book sale to support our college community. However, as the Victorian Government has mandated that all schools finalise their transition to the new Victorian Curriculum 2.0, we will be holding a second-hand book sale for VCE textbooks only. This will allow a year of transition, ensuring that students in other year levels purchase the updated textbooks required under the new curriculum.

Please note, families will be notified via Compass by Monday, 1st December regarding whether the VCE Second-Hand Book Sale will proceed. We will assess stock levels beforehand to ensure there is an adequate supply of books available for purchase on the day. In the event that stock levels are insufficient, the Second-Hand Book Sale will be cancelled.

The second-hand book sale provides parents and guardians the opportunity to sell this year’s books and to buy second-hand books for 2026. The sale only deals in textbooks for Years 11 and 12 only in 2025.

Please find attached a copy of the Book Sale Form, which must be completed and submitted along with the textbooks. Printed copies of this form are also available for collection from the Willandra Study Centre

MRC Scholarship Applications for 2026 are now open

Like previous years, MRC is excited to report our business partners have generously provided financial support to subsidise the costs associated with schooling. In order to ensure this is an equitable process, we invite you to apply for an academic scholarship, with successful recipients receiving funds towards educational items for 2026.

We will be offering 10 x $250 scholarships as follows:

2 x Early Years, 3 x Junior Years, 2 x Middle Years and 3 x Senior Years

Please read through the attached form carefully for more information. Hard copies are available at the Early Years and Main Administration office.

Prep Transition Program

Our 2026 Foundation (Prep) students have been provided with the opportunity to experience and adapt to a structured school environment prior to their commencement in 2026. Our program provides opportunities for children to experience school life, meet teachers, and build new friendships in a welcoming setting over 3 weekly sessions.

Parents and Friends Association (PFA) Christmas Raffle

The Parents and Friends Association (PFA) is excited to launch our annual End-of-Year Raffle, and we’re delighted to share that this year’s major prize is a fantastic Robot Vacuum Cleaner! Alongside this amazing prize, we also have a wide range of other wonderful items generously donated by our community.

Raffle tickets are now on sale for $0.50 each, or you may purchase a full book for $5.00. All funds raised will directly support PFA initiatives that enrich learning experiences and strengthen our College community.

We kindly ask that all sold tickets be returned to the College by Friday 5th December. The raffle will be drawn on Friday 12th December at the Early Years Assembly, and winners will be notified shortly after. Please ensure your name and phone number are printed clearly on every ticket so we can contact you if you’re one of our lucky winners.

Where to return tickets:

  • Prep–Year 4: Return tickets to your child’s mentor teacher (who will forward them to the Early Years Administration Office), or drop them directly at the Early Years Office.

  • Years 5–7: Return tickets directly to the Main Administration Office.

If you would like to purchase additional ticket books, these are available from your child’s mini school office.

The PFA sincerely thanks you for your ongoing support. Together, we continue to build a strong, connected, and vibrant school community. Good luck to all who enter!

Finally, please enjoy some of the reflections of activities we have done over the past few weeks and as always, if you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your child's Mentor teacher as a first course of action and check out our new College Website:
