Learning Across the
Junior School
It was a pleasure to join our Year 5 students, together with students from Loreto schools across Australia, for an online Leadership Workshop last week. We were also privileged to welcome several of our 2026 Year 12 leaders, along with Ms Carolyne Young from Loreto Ministries and Mrs Lynn Long, Chair of the Loreto Schools Australia Committee, who contributed to the session.
Throughout the workshop, the girls engaged in thoughtful discussions inspired by Mary Ward’s example of leadership. They explored what it means to lead within a Loreto school and reflected on the qualities that define an authentic Loreto leader. This valuable experience forms an important part of their preparation for the leadership roles they experience as Year 6 students next year.
Last week, our Year 3 students set off on their very first school camp. The girls had a wonderful time at Woodhouse Adventure Park, staying at the charming Manor House.
Over the two days, they participated in a range of activities, from the tube slide (shared with a surprise furry visitor!) to tackling the Challenge Hill with courage and determination. A definite highlight for many was cooking damper and enjoying a movie night together.
A big thank you must go to the dedicated staff who accompanied the students; Ms Hattie Ziesing, Ms Zahra Morrish, Ms Jess Edwards and Ms Corrinne McKee.

It was an absolute delight last Wednesday to be entertained by some of our Junior School students as they shared their musical talents. Organised by our Music Teacher, Mr Tom Hamnett, the audience enjoyed a program featuring a range of choirs, ensembles, and solo performances. From our junior training choir members through to our talented primary students, the evening was a celebration of the joy and creativity that music brings to our community.
Music continues to be a highlight for so many of our students, and this showcase was a wonderful reminder of their enthusiasm and dedication.

Last Friday was a special morning as we welcomed our new Reception students starting in 2026. The excitement and anticipation were evident as some of our current Reception students helped host a beautiful welcome liturgy, extending warmth and friendship to the girls who will soon join them on their learning journey. Ms McCullah added to the joy of the occasion by presenting each new student with a Loreto bear, a cherished symbol of belonging and care within our school. We look forward with great enthusiasm to seeing these young students grow and flourish as part of the Loreto family next year.
