Craft

We finally moved into the new art room term four. It took a week, with the support of integration aids and students, to move all the art equipment from the hallway into the new art space. It looks marvellous and we all love the new light and sounds of the art room. It is so big and so beautiful to work in. The kids especially love the circle carpet where we do our opening verse and share our art discussions. I have set up a hot glue gun station for lots of creative sculpture making and the light box has its own special table now.
Students in Years 1–6 are enthusiastically completing their knitting projects, which began back in Term 2. As they finish their work, each student has the opportunity to discuss and decide how they’d like to transform their knitting. Some have chosen to follow a pre-set pattern to make a teddy bear, while others are unleashing their creativity to design unique toys, bags, and other imaginative creations.
Our Grade 6 students are busily working on their graduation toys, designing and creating unique costumes for them. The students are full of enthusiasm and imagination, bringing to life some truly one-of-a-kind creations!
Our Prep/Year 1 students have completed their weaving on a loom project and have now begun making God’s Eyes and stitching little hessian bags. They’ve been so proud of their progress and creativity!
TPS Arts Festival Is Back!
We’re so excited to have our TPS Arts Festival returning this Saturday - 8th November! this year!
Students will have their art and craft creations on display, and there will be plenty of hands-on art activities in the art room to keep everyone inspired and engaged.
We’re also thrilled to celebrate the official ribbon cutting for our brand-new art room. We can’t wait to welcome you all to this vibrant new creative space!
To support student learning, parents are invited to help in the art room. You will need a current working with children check. Please sign in at the office before you come to the art room.
